A supportive space for change
You do not have to arrive with all the answers. You only need to be ready to begin.
You are not stuck
Sometimes we know exactly what we want to change, yet something beneath the surface keeps pulling us back to familiar thoughts, feelings or behaviours.
Hypnotherapy is a collaborative process that uses focused attention and deep relaxation to help you work with those automatic patterns. You stay aware, in control and able to respond throughout.

We agree a clear focus, then work at a pace that feels comfortable, either in Deal or online.
We review what is shifting and reinforce the tools and responses you can carry into everyday life.

Your questions, answered
A little clarity before you begin.
We talk about your goals and agree the focus of the session. Barry then guides you through focused attention, relaxation and suggestions or mental rehearsal relevant to that goal. There is time afterwards to reflect and agree your next step.
You remain able to speak, ask questions and stop. Barry explains the process and works with your agreement throughout.
Experiences vary. You may feel relaxed and absorbed, or simply aware of listening closely. There is no particular sensation you have to achieve for a session to be worthwhile.
A standard session lasts 60–75 minutes. The dedicated stop smoking session lasts up to two hours. Your first clarity call is free and lasts 20 minutes.
That depends on your goal and circumstances. We agree an initial approach and review progress together, with no pressure to book unnecessary sessions. A single session is £125; a four-session programme is £400.
Sessions may focus on relaxation and practising a different response to everyday worries. Results vary, and hypnotherapy is complementary support, not a replacement for medical or psychological care. Speak to your GP about persistent or severe anxiety.
Online sessions are available across the UK. You need a private, quiet place, a reliable internet connection and time without interruptions. We can discuss your circumstances on the clarity call.
In-person appointments are held in Deal, Kent. The full address is shared when booking. Please ask about access requirements before arranging a visit.
No. Tell Barry about medical conditions, medication and current treatment before starting. The NHS advises that hypnotherapy may not be safe with schizophrenia, a history of psychosis or epilepsy; seek medical advice about suitability.
The 20-minute clarity call is a chance to describe what you want to change, ask questions and see whether working together feels right. We discuss practicalities and possible next steps. There is no obligation to book a paid session.
